After Getting the Vaccine at Renown’s Drive Thru
After you receive the vaccine, our team will direct you to park your car in an observation area, where you will wait for 15 minutes to assure you do not have any immediate reactions to the vaccine. Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), Chaplains and support volunteers patrol the area and may knock on your car window to ask how you are feeling.
As with all vaccinations, there is potential for injection site reactions (redness, swelling and pain) as well as fever, fatigue, headache, chills, vomiting, diarrhea, muscle pain and/or joint pain.
Vaccine Types
The FDA has issued the Emergency Use Authorization for two vaccines in the prevention of COVID-19. Both have been distributed in the state of Nevada and by Renown Health.
Second Dose
It is required that you return for the second dose at the optimal time frame, 18-28 days after your first dose was received depending on the manufacturer. (Note, the pharmaceutical name of the vaccination you received and date of administration is on your CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, which was provided to you when you received your first dose).
